Prepares unfoldhq.dev to go live. After this merges, promoting development to main releases and deploys production.

  • Release path: on_source_change.yml also runs on main. There only site-release versions, because Unfold's release job stays on development. A promotion therefore cuts unfold-site-v0.1.0, and on_release_published deploys the unfold-site Worker on unfoldhq.dev. Unfold itself does not release from main.
  • Sign-up databases: staging gets its own EU D1 database, unfold-site-signups-staging, which I created today. Production keeps unfold-site-signups, holding the real sign-ups staging collected so far.
  • DNS: the apex and www lose Namecheap's parking records (A 192.64.119.7, CNAME parkingpage.namecheap.com) and get a proxied AAAA 100::, like staging. The commit carries DNS-Allow-Delete for both names, and the reconciler applies it from development within the hour. Read-only preview: 2 deletes, 2 creates.
  • Docs: ADR-0012, the deploy guide and the CI table record this, including merging main back into development after a stable release.

Tested:

  • scripts/workflow-policy.test.cjs: 22/22, with a new truth table for the site-release condition (event × branch × gate × checks × release).
  • mise run docs-check: passes.
  • dnscontrol check and a read-only preview: as above.

Next: I open the promotion development → main. Merge it with a merge commit, not squash.

Prepares `unfoldhq.dev` to go live. After this merges, promoting `development` to `main` releases and deploys production. - **Release path:** `on_source_change.yml` also runs on `main`. There only `site-release` versions, because Unfold's `release` job stays on `development`. A promotion therefore cuts `unfold-site-v0.1.0`, and `on_release_published` deploys the `unfold-site` Worker on `unfoldhq.dev`. Unfold itself does not release from `main`. - **Sign-up databases:** staging gets its own EU D1 database, `unfold-site-signups-staging`, which I created today. Production keeps `unfold-site-signups`, holding the real sign-ups staging collected so far. - **DNS:** the apex and `www` lose Namecheap's parking records (`A 192.64.119.7`, `CNAME parkingpage.namecheap.com`) and get a proxied `AAAA 100::`, like `staging`. The site has a production Worker and route but nothing could cut a
stable unfold-site release: the release jobs ran only on development,
which cuts candidates. on_source_change.yml now also runs on main,
where only site-release versions (Unfold's release job stays limited
to development), so promoting development to main cuts
unfold-site-vX.Y.Z and on_release_published deploys unfoldhq.dev.

Staging gets its own EU D1 database, unfold-site-signups-staging
(b8b9dea7…, created 2026-10-04); production keeps unfold-site-signups
with the sign-ups staging collected so far. The apex and www lose the
registrar's parking records and carry the same proxied 100:: as
staging. ADR-0012, the deploy guide and the CI table record it.
