Owner

Retires the name Vloer. The front end is now simply Unfold, inside and out (owner decision 2026-10-04, design review Q1; ADR-0020).

What changes

  • apps/vloer → apps/unfold. The npm package is @webgrip/unfold, the images are unfold and unfold-agent, the chart is ops/helm/unfold, the extension is webgrip.unfold, the settings section is unfold and the environment variables start with UNFOLD_. CI, the release workflow, the publishers, Renovate and mise follow.
  • Existing installs carry their state over once:
    • The server adopts vloer.sqlite, with its WAL, as unfold.sqlite.
    • The browser moves vloer.* local storage to unfold.* before first paint.
    • The extension copies vloer.* user and workspace settings.
    • Tests are in test/renamed*.test.*. People sign in once more.
  • Ploeg's wire names stay until Ploeg renames them upstream: vloerUrl, the vloer-native skin (read as unfold-native by renamedSkins), PLOEG_REPORT_VLOER_URL and the vloer/<session> branch.
  • Records keep their wording, and only their repository paths moved so links resolve: ADRs, changelogs, research and evidence, and the planning export. The release guards keep the retired de-vloer repository and the vloer-v tags.
  • References to the root ledger now say "system ADR" so they cannot be confused with the application's own ledger.
  • docs/domain/model.yaml merges the two Unfold terms and retires Vloer.

Verification

  • mise run verify: all gates pass (unfold, extension, ploeg, brand, site, site-demo, helm, release, integration, docs) on this commit, rebased on 87b2088f.
  • git grep -i vloer -- . ':!apps/ploeg' lists only:
    • the records;
    • the wire names;
    • the adoption code and its tests;
    • historical links to the archived webgrip/de-vloer repository and the homelab-cluster paths;
    • glossary rows that quote Ploeg's own domain model.

Risk and rollout

  • Breaking for deployments (the release policy keeps it a minor bump). The homelab must switch to the unfold image and chart and rename VLOER_* to UNFOLD_* in the same change (VIK-1856). The default OIDC groups are now unfold-admins, unfold-operators and unfold-viewers: rename the groups in the identity provider or set oidc.roles.
  • New packages. The first unfold GHCR packages are private until made public. The VS Code marketplaces list a new extension next to webgrip.de-vloer.
  • Open branches. Every open branch under apps/vloer must be rebased onto apps/unfold. Git's rename detection carried #217–#219 across cleanly.
  • Docs URLs. They move from /glide/vloer/ to /glide/unfold/, and the legacy redirect table was updated.
  • Rollback. Revert this commit. Installs that already started this version keep unfold.sqlite; rename it back.

Not in this PR

  • Ploeg's own mentions of Vloer, which need a ploeg-hq change.
  • The application's visible brand: the sidebar lockup and icons still draw the former mark. That comes next, stacked on this branch, together with the new Work Item components.

Retires the name Vloer. The front end is now simply **Unfold**, inside and out (owner decision 2026-10-04, design review Q1; [ADR-0020](docs/adr/adr-0020-unfold-is-the-application-and-the-name-vloer-is-retired.md)). ## What changes - `apps/vloer` → `apps/unfold`. The npm package is `@webgrip/unfold`, the images are `unfold` and `unfold-agent`, the chart is `ops/helm/unfold`, the extension is `webgrip.unfold`, the settings section is `unfold` and the environment variables start with `UNFOLD_`. CI, the release workflow, the publishers, Renovate and mise follow. - Existing installs carry their state over once: - The server adopts `vloer.sqlite`, with its WAL, as `unfold.sqlite`. - The browser moves `vloer.*` local storage to `unfold.*` before first paint. - The extension copies `vloer.*` user and workspace settings. - Tests are in `test/renamed*.test.*`. People sign in once more. - Ploeg's wire names stay until Ploeg renames them upstream: `vloerUrl`, the `vloer-native` skin (read as `unfold-native` by `renamedSkins`), `PLOEG_REPORT_VLOER_URL` and the `vloer/<session>` branch. - Records keep their wording, and only their repository paths moved so links resolve: ADRs, changelogs, research and evidence, and the planning export. The release guards keep the retired `de-vloer` repository and the `vloer-v` tags. - References to the root ledger now say "system ADR" so they cannot be confused with the application's own ledger. - `docs/domain/model.yaml` merges the two Unfold terms and retires Vloer. ## Verification - `mise run verify`: all gates pass (unfold, extension, ploeg, brand, site, site-demo, helm, release, integration, docs) on this commit, rebased on `87b2088f`. - `git grep -i vloer -- . The front end was called Vloer while it and Ploeg were separate products.
Since Ploeg moved to its own repository, the unfold-v train ships only this
application, so the owner decided to call it Unfold everywhere, inside and
out (design review Q1, VIK-1831; ADR-0020).

- apps/vloer moves to apps/unfold; package @webgrip/unfold, images unfold
  and unfold-agent, chart unfold, extension webgrip.unfold, settings
  section unfold, environment variables UNFOLD_*.
- Existing installs carry over: the server adopts vloer.sqlite, the browser
  moves vloer.* local storage before first paint, the extension copies
  vloer.* settings. People sign in once more.
- Ploeg's wire names stay until Ploeg renames them: vloerUrl, the
  vloer-native skin (read as unfold-native) and PLOEG_REPORT_VLOER_URL.
- Records keep their wording: ADRs, changelogs, research and evidence and
  the planning export; only their repository paths moved. Release guards
  keep the retired de-vloer repository and vloer-v tags.
- References to the root ADR ledger now say "system ADR" so they cannot be
  confused with the application's own ledger.

BREAKING CHANGE: deployments must switch to the unfold image and chart and
rename VLOER_* environment variables to UNFOLD_* (homelab: VIK-1856). The
default OIDC groups are now unfold-admins, unfold-operators and
unfold-viewers.
